Welcome To Charlotte’s Fibers
Nestled in the scenic mountains of Western North Carolina, and firmly rooted in age-old Appalachian fiber arts traditions, Charlotte’s Fibers seeks to provide today’s fiber lover with the best in products, tools and services. We offer yarns from such recognized yarn distributors as Cascade, Karabella and Classic Elite as well as hand paints from Claudia, Cherry Tree Hill, and Great Adirondack. In addition, we actively seek out independent spinners and dyers whose products you may not encounter in your regular yarn shop, and we offer handspun/hand-dyed yarns from artisans located in and around Brevard, NC.
Yarn and roving from locally pastured sheep of various breeds are staples of our inventory. In addition to spinning wheels, rigid heddle looms and warping boards from Schacht and Louet, we offer handmade spindles and spindle bowls.
Our class schedule features spinning, weaving and dyeing, as well as knit and crochet classes ranging from beginner through advanced. Take advantage of the opportunity to learn from our published designers. Private lessons are available. We also offer classes such as tatting and bobbin lace-making that may not be on the menu at your local yarn shop.
Our friendly, knowledgeable staff are ready to help you find an extra ball of that discontinued yarn you picked up on vacation five years ago. If it’s available anywhere we’re pretty sure to find it. Need help with a pattern? We have Skype installed on our computer. If you also have Skype we can help you, even if you’re clear across the country.
We offer finishing services ranging from professional blocking to joining your knit or crocheted pattern pieces into a finished garment, and repair/restoration of your knit or crocheted family heirlooms. In short, we’re a Full Service Yarn Shop, and we would like the opportunity to become your yarn shop.
